It may sound harsh, but it’s no secret that some people are capable of turning a blind eye to the suffering of others. Many prefer to cross the street rather than help a stranger, even when a life is at risk. Thankfully, this is not the case with Julieta De Agata, a big-hearted woman who saved the life of a kitten agonizing in pain.
Her name is Paloma, a little feline who had been thrown into a trash container by her cruel owners.
Apparently, someone decided to get rid of the animal without caring that she was suffering from a serious condition in her left eye. Paloma was only days old when she encountered the harshness of this world—but Julieta was there to save her.
The woman took Paloma to the veterinarian to treat her protruding eye.
The recovery process was not easy, but with a great deal of patience and love, the kitten became the cherished little girl she is today. Deeply moved by the story she now shares with Paloma, Julieta decided to make an emotional post on Facebook to raise awareness about her kitten’s case.
In a series of images, she shared the astonishing transformation her little friend has gone through and how brave she has been during this time.
“So many things have happened in such a short time! (…) Being with humans has helped me understand how important it is for you to look back and see how much we’ve changed. Here you can see me—this is my story, summarized in just a few photos,” Julieta posted on her Facebook account.
This Spanish woman from Torrejón de Ardoz has given a powerful example of humanity to everyone around her—and now to the world. Despite the difficulties the Covid-19 crisis has brought to everyone, she did not ignore the urgent need of a little creature who required immediate help.
Today, Paloma is recovering and enjoying the company of her owner—and she has also become something of a celebrity on Facebook.
This little one has shown her gratitude with endless affection.
Julieta uses her social media account to regularly update followers on the kitten’s progress and all her playful antics.
“I’ve been lucky enough to meet two moms so far, and dads too. I’ve never lacked love, but my forever family is already waiting for me. I need to recover completely before heading toward my new life. They are taking care of me and healing me for that,” Julieta wrote on Paloma’s behalf.
Life smiled on Paloma through the woman she met along her path.
Without a doubt, this woman deserves a standing ovation for her great love and dedication. She chose not to be part of the crowd that walked past the kitten’s pain and instead decided to take action—something truly worthy of recognition and praise.
