To transform Tex from a dying stray into the chubby, healthy house cat he is today, Kim put in tremendous effort. Caring for the cat was extremely demanding — constant IV drips were required, and Tex’s body was covered in foul-smelling wounds that had to be shaved and treated. Tex is truly lucky to have met such a dedicated owner!

A story recently posted by member K.B in a private group — about the journey of rescuing a stray cat, starving and skeletal, nearly dead by the roadside, and turning him into a chubby, cheerful house cat — has left readers truly wanting to express their gratitude.
K.B shared his story as follows:
“Every time I place my hand on him and close my eyes, the memory of that night I rescued him rewinds like it happened just yesterday. The same patchwork of feelings — heartbreak at seeing a starving cat lying near a roadside eatery waiting to die, mixed with a little helplessness staring at that paper-thin body of nothing but bones. There was barely any sign of life left. So hungry his belly skin was stuck to his back. It was the first time I’d ever touched an adult cat that emaciated.
The question on my mind was: could he survive? Honestly, I felt hopeless — I had no idea how long it would take to put even a little flesh on that bare frame.

I carried him in a box, stopped at a dessert stall, and asked for some sugar water to feed him. He looked up at me with dazed eyes, then buried his head in my arm, trembling — as if he had so much he wanted to say.
I named him Tex. At first, my grandmother couldn’t hold back her pity and blurted out, ‘poor starving cat.’ Now, every time he leads his gang around causing a ruckus, she scolds him: ‘that fat cat is terrorizing the whole neighborhood.’
Day by day, in complete contrast to the pitiful cat he once was, today’s Tex is both energetic and a big crybaby. Touch him once and he turns to glare at you in warning; touch him twice and he swipes — no further discussion.
Still, I managed to save a life. The world always has the law of cause and effect — good people will be repaid in kind.”
K.B’s real name is Kim (born 1995), living in Saigon. Kim says he has always been someone who rescues stray cats off the street, so seeing Tex’s heartbreaking condition, he simply couldn’t look away.

“I shared this story on Facebook because I want to inspire others — people who might use whatever little ability they have to reach out and save lives like Tex’s. Some animals survive after being rescued, some don’t — but as long as you don’t abandon them, don’t turn your back when there’s still a chance, quite a few things called miracles can happen,” Kim added.
“Never give up on an animal when you still have the power to save them!”
The story of Tex once again gives us much to reflect on about the love humans can show toward animals. Truly, a miraculous resurrection.
