A Hurting Kitten Who Lost An Eye Due To Human Cruelty Is Heartlessly Thrown Into The Trash

A woman was taking her children to school when she came across a terribly injured kitten. The little cat appeared to be on the verge of losing his life—he was missing one eye, and as if that weren’t enough, someone had abandoned him in a trash bin.

She immediately contacted the rescuers from Bredhurst Cats Protection, and since then they have not stopped fighting for the little furball. They decided to name him Artex, and a visit to the veterinarian confirmed that this innocent animal had known nothing but unfair and painful treatment.

“We don’t know much about his past, but at Cats Protection we’re going to make sure he receives all the care he needs,” said a spokesperson from Cats Protection.

After examining him, the veterinarians developed a troubling suspicion about how Artex lost his eye. Everything suggests that he suffered such a strong and painful blow that his eye was forced out.

Worst of all, the wound had never been cleaned or treated, leaving the poor kitten in constant pain.

“In the near future, he will need surgery to properly clean and stitch his eye socket,” explained one of the rescuers.

Leaving him in a trash bin only increased the risk of infection and essentially left him there to die. Fortunately, the rescuers arrived just in time.

They cleaned his wounds and gave him a bath to fight the fleas that were severely affecting him. The process was very difficult, as the nervous kitten was extremely distrustful of any human contact.

“He doesn’t feel comfortable around people at all. He’s very frightened and doesn’t like being held,” explained a rescuer.

He didn’t seem to understand that there were many people willing to help him—but that reaction is understandable when imagining the endless mistreatment he had endured.

For many, a kitten in such a difficult condition would be considered a lost cause. Luckily, at Bredhurst Cats Protection they are not willing to give up on Artex. He will need a great deal of time and dedication to fully recover.

“Artex’s case will take months, and we estimate the cost will be around $800. We would be very grateful for any donation,” said a rescuer.

To cover the costs of his surgery, the rescuers began fundraising. The story of the beautiful kitten moved many people, and they managed to exceed their initial goal. All funds raised will go toward Artex’s comfort and help provide everything he needs to begin his new life.

Any remaining funds will be donated to other kittens at the foundation who are also in delicate health.

Once he has fully regained his strength, Artex will be placed in an experienced foster home that will help him rebuild his trust in people.

It is heartwarming to know that this kitten is now in good hands. Every day he grows a little stronger, serving as a powerful reminder that we should never give up. To someone, this kitten was nothing more than “trash”; to the volunteers at Cats Protection, he is a source of inspiration.
